Texas Woman Arrested in DC for Alleged Threats Against Trump and Unlicensed Gun Possession

USATime – A 41-year-old woman from San Antonio, Texas, was arrested in Washington, DC, after allegedly making threats against former President Donald Trump and carrying an unlicensed firearm, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The arrest followed a tip from the US Secret Service, who alerted local authorities on Friday afternoon. Police located Christina Montoya and her Honda Accord in a residential neighborhood in northeastern DC, where they made the arrest.

Montoya faces several charges, including carrying a pistol without a license, possessing an unregistered firearm, and making threats against a former president. She was taken into custody on Friday evening.

According to police reports, the threats against Trump began on July 20. Details of the threats were not disclosed. Authorities recovered a silver Smith & Wesson M&P Shield pistol, along with a magazine and a gun lock from Montoya.

The arrest comes amid heightened national concern over political violence, following an assassination attempt on Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
